Invest in Your Core Gift: Darryl’s Quest for The Voice

Let me take a breather from all the money topics I’ve been blogging lately to give way to a talent and music-related story that I would like to share and promote to my dear readers.

I have always been a supporter of people who are passionate on their craft are appreciating their blessings by using their core gifts to enrich themselves and to inspire others.

My friend, Darryl Shy, now 44 years old, has just been chosen and made it to the first round of the Blind Audtions of The Voice of the Philippines‘ debut run.

Honestly, this is the first time that I will follow the Voice, albeit the local version, not only because Darryl is a friend and kumpare but because I know that he’s got the words and music ready to clean the long-corrupted ears of the Filipino mainstream music listeners. The Family That Invests Together, Stays Together. Forever.

It’s my birthday today. The day is about to end actually. But the celebration of life continues.

When I woke up this morning, tons of birthday greetings filled my email inbox and Facebook timeline. I feel so blessed for having so many friends and loved ones. For me, they are the true wealth in one’s life.

What caught my attention and touched my heart was an email from one of my blog followers, an OFW based in South Korea. I remember him getting inspired and commented on my post about an OFW based in Saudi Arabia who never gave up completing his requirements just to start his investing journey. Overcoming Hopelessness – Nick Vujicic at TEDxNoviSad

I didn’t have the opportunity to attend Nick Vujicic’s event in Manila a week ago. Still I’m glad that a handful of friends were able to. And I’m very happy for them to have met Nick in person and be inspired. I have this BIG hope that I will be able to meet Nick somewhere soon.

This TEDxTalk session from Nick will awaken the hopeless part in you. Just like Nick, I have to admit that there was a time when I wanted to end my life. And I am so grateful to God that He has been faithful to me despite me losing hope when I was younger.

Do we see our real value? Do we look beyond the value of our money? Our investments? our jobs? Our businesses? Our relationships?

Nick tells us to never lose hope. To see the beauty in us. He asserts that the willpower is a driving force for making our big dreams come true.
