GRAB Philippines has invited our non-profit organization Angat Pilipinas Coalition for Financial Literacy together with Bo Sanchez’ Truly Rich Club, an online community which I also belong, to conduct a series of personal finance workshops for the housewives of their top drivers under their program GRAB MISISKOLAR, Wais Sa Pamilya, Wais Sa Pera.
The first of the series happened last August 13, 2017 at the Megatent in Libis, Quezon City and was attended by more than 600 participants. GRAB Philippines’ CEO Brian Cu was present to grace the event and gave an inspirational talk to the housewives of GRAB drivers.
My Angat Pilipinas co-volunteers Seph Romana and Carmen Romana, also known as the Sunbright Couple, shared their money management techniques to the participants. They also highlighted the importance of having life and health insurance for husbands and housewives alike.
Discussing about managing one’s finances will not be complete without talking about investing. That’s why I introduced the different financial instruments and investment vehicles that the participants can look into to achieve financial freedom. This included the crash course on stock market, bonds, money market, and mutual funds.
Towards the end of the presentation, we played a video message of Bro. Bo Sanchez, encouraging the drivers and housewives to determine their “financial destination” in life. He stressed that everyone’s financial destination is achieving true financial freedom.
Bro. Bo also invited them to join the Truly Rich Club so that they can be guided in their investing journey through the stock market. The sponsors also presented their respective livelihood and investment programs.
This enabled the housewives to study and choose the best business option for themselves.
The next stop of the GRAB MISISKOLAR will be at the SM City in Cebu City on August 27, Sunday. It will also be a whole day event organized for the GRAB housewives based in Cebu.
Just like the Manila stint, the Cebu event will also feature the same talks, livelihood programs, and guests.
