1. Write and Sell Your Own E-Books or Course
My friend Jon Orana has been promoting selling ebooks to many Filipinos for several years already. His online course Internet Business MasterClass (IBMC) has helped a lot of Filipinos achieve financial freedom by selling ebooks in their own websites and email lists.
Tip: You can outsource people to help you in writing your first ebook.
2. Create An Online Course
Creating a digital course is similar to writing an ebook. You’re monetizing your wisdom and expertise by teaching what you know to others.
Another friend, John Pagulayan, has been earning millions teaching his students how GET PREMIUM CLIENTS as a freelancer. Check out this link of his LIVE workshop where he shared the 4-step process to getting Premium Clients.
In the last few years, I launched a couple of online courses (Enter Entrepreneurship Series 1 and Series 2) with an objective of helping people start and grow their own business. These webinar series were able to generate good sales from hundred of enrollees locally and abroad. In fact, the recordings of these webinars are still selling via the Manila Workshops online shop.
To jumpstart your online course, you can start promoting yourself through your own website, your Facebook groups/pages, email list, and possibly through partnerships with other online personalities.
You should also set up a captivating sales page that will convince your followers and visitors to buy from you. Make sure that you have an email subscription form so you can grow your email list. Remember, email marketing is still considered to be one of the best tools to generate sales from your list.
3. Start Your Vlog or YouTube Channel
Many companies have proven that video ads are their most effective and profitable way of promoting their products online and on commercial television. These days, video is also becoming more popular among many people online.
Some of our Youtuber friends in the freelancing circle have been earning at least P50,000 a month just by posting well-edited videos or vlogs of their family life, their core interests, hosting expertise, and various skills on their respective YouTube channels.
Starting a YouTube channel will not only help you tell great stories or provide valuable content to your audience. This will also help you get profitable speaking engagements and networking opportunities.
The good thing about YouTube vlogging is that you don’t need to buy an expensive DSLR or point-and-shoot cameras quickly. You can start using your smartphone as long as it has superb quality camera lens to shoot your first video immediately. Plan out your first 12 Youtube content today and begin shooting tomorrow!
Tip: People get hooked to Youtube videos that are longer than 10 minutes. So get your face and script ready for your first video!
4. Earn From Affiliate Marketing
Affiliate marketing is a performance-based marketing where you can earn a commission by promoting somebody else’s product. Through affiliate marketing, you promote products like ebooks, membership sites, video series, etc.
Personally, I have been earning a good sum of money doing affiliate marketing for Bo Sanchez’ TrulyRichClub, Matt McWilliams, Jon Orana, Jeff Goins, and other online gurus and mentors. This type of affiliate marketing helps me earn up to 30% or more in commission.
Look also for affiliate programs being offered by Amazon, Hostgator, GoDaddy, Starbucks, and other companies promoting their products online.
5. Sell on Shopee
My wife and I used to sell clothes, electronic gadgets, ebooks, musical instruments, and others on eBay. But in the middle of 2017, we decided to sell children’s clothes on Shopee.
First thing to consider when setting up your Shopee store is your profitable market. Brainstorm some ideas and do some research on which market can be tapped based on your chosen product to sell.
Most shoppers on Shopee are from the masa market so make sure that your price isn’t expensive for working class but to the point that you can still get good profit.
Visit our Shopee store here to give you some ideas.
6. Dropshipping
Dropshipping is a type of online business where you create an online store to sell other people’s products. This means do you not manufacture or ship the products that you sell. In dropshipping business, you get a commission for ever sale that you make.
One advantage of this business is that you don’t need to stock up products in your place. Unlike a “traditional” e-commerce business where you stock up your own inventory and lose money if the product doesn’t sell anymore, dropshipping has no such risk. Plus, you don’t need to invest a lot when starting a dropshipping business online.
Find a good supplier locally or internationally as your partner in this kind of business.
If you’d like to learn more how to drop ship, I suggest that you attend our live workshop happening on January 20, 2018 at the Asian Institute of Management (AIM) in Makati City. One of our speakers, Richie Salvador will share his success in dropshipping to about 500 attendees. You can buy your tickets here at 41% discount: LifeStyle Entrepreneur Summit 2018 Ticket
7. Become an Airbnb Host
Many overseas Filipinos have reached out to me asking for help in finding long-term occupants for their condo units and houses. For me, this requires more time and effort in terms of managing the tenants and collection of the monthly rent.
One of the better option to have your house rented is via Airbnb. If you have a vacant house or condominium unit, make money out of it as a host. All you need is someone to look after the unit whenever you have bookings. You can pay that caretaker to make sure that the unit is well-maintained, clean, and tidy for your guests.
You can check out our Airbnb listing here.
To gain the trust of your “caretaker”, you can ask him or her to become your “business partner” instead. You can divide the revenues per booking to a 80:20 or 70:30 sharing scheme. It all depends on your agreement. This way, your business partner/co-host will treat your house and take good care of it as if it is their own house too.
Don’t have a house to host? Then be an Airbnb “caretaker/business partner/co-host” of a relative or friend who owns a vacant home.
