Is It Bad to Become Rich?

Wealth means great health. Wealth means strong family bonding and happy relationships. It means love, faith, and a positive outlook in life. It also pertains to your business, property, and investments.

Do you enjoy what you have now? Do you take care of your health to enjoy everything you have? Do you spend time, happy time that is, with your spouse, kids, and parents?

Is it really bad to gain wealth?

St. Paul said to Timothy:

“Tell the rich in the present age not to be proud and not to rely on so uncertain a thing as wealth but rather on God, who richly provides us with all things for our enjoyment. Tell them to do good, to be rich in good works, to be generous, ready to share, thus accumulating as treasure a good foundation for the future, so as to win the life that is true life.” – (1 Timothy 6:17-19)

God provides us riches and blessings that we need and we just don’t realize that they are just there in front of us. It has always been there for the taking.

God wants us to enjoy the riches that we receive. And the best way to enjoy these blessings is to share them with our family and friends. It is best to enjoy them with the people who really need it.

Forget about the wrong beliefs in the past that the rich will never get to heaven. You have to read between the lines. God wants us to be rich. And he wants us to be in heaven soon (but not too soon) as the same time.

“Remember then the LORD, your God, for He is the one who gives you the power to get wealth, by fulfilling, as he has now done, the covenant he swore to your ancestors.” – (Deuteronomy 8:18)

It is NOT BAD to become RICH. But it depends on your purpose.

When we invest, when we make our money grow, we gain riches for the purpose of loving others. It is meant to be shared to others.

When you first redeemed or sold your shares/units and withdrew that 45% profit, did you give at least 10% of that profit back to God’s Lordship? Or you greedily spent it for yourself?

While God wants us to be rich, He is reminding us to do the thing that should be done first.

“Honor the LORD with your wealth, with first fruits of all your produce” – (Proverbs 3:9)

Mormon Tithing

Do you strive to be truly rich for yourself or for God? Do you call Him first to join you in enjoying your “first fruits”?

Do you pay forward what you learned from others about growing money?

  1. Getting rich is just like acquiring a gun. It depends on the purpose. If the purpose and the means is not in conformity with God, then getting rich is bad.

  2. I agree with all you’ve said here bro. If we put God first in anything and everything, there is nothing wrong with that. Being rich is not at all that bad. But being greedy is.

  3. Agree, many believes that we should not talk about money, but if you know that your purpose is God fearing driven and then go for it. We need to earn more to increase our giving 🙂

  4. You need to know who is the center of your life.

Is it food or your life?

Is it clothes or your body?

    Is it money or god?

MONEY is a good servant BUT it is not a good MASTER. If money controls you then what kind of person are you?
