Can OFW’s Invest in Funds Overseas Aside from the Philippines?

For the past year, we’ve been receiving inquiries from OFW’s and even from those based in the Philippines on how to invest in pooled funds such as mutual funds, unit investment trust funds (UITF’s), exchange-traded funds (ETF’s), and others. And we are so glad for having been able to help most of them open their first accounts and start investing either for their retirement of for their children’s education.

Recently, there were also some Filipinos based overseas who are wondering whether they can invest in other emerging and developed countries other than the Philippines.

Jess Emerson Uy, a financial consultant based in Singapore, will let us know and explain the options on how to invest in equities from different regions and in bonds issued by different countries and corporations globally.

One good thing about investing in global pooled funds is that the minimum investment required is smaller and simpler than investing directly in equities or bonds in different coutries. Another advantage in investing in global funds is that there are more fund managers focused on different asset classes and markets.

So if you are based in Metro Manila or if you are working in Makati and interested to learn more on how to invest globally, you may want to meet Jess Emerson Uy in person on October 9, 2013, 7PM at Starbucks Paseo de Roxas, Makati City.

For more details and to reserve your free slot at Starbucks Paseo de Roxas, you may get in touch with Mr. Edmund “Mon” Lao, RFP at 09173262077.

For OFW’s and those based outside the Philippines, you can still catch Jess Uy live online for FREE via our webinar channel, OFW UsapangPiso Webinars. To attend the event live online, you may register here. Webinar/webcast will start at 7:30PM Philippine time (check your local timezones).
